Exploration Architecture
As part of NASA's Vision for Space Exploration, Andrews completed a broad "Systems of Systems" analysis to define exploration architecture requirements and configurations for safely returning to the Moon and continuing to Mars in an affordable and sustainable manner.

The Andrews mission architecture, called Versatile Integrated Space Transportation Architecture (VISTA), builds on heritage achievements (Apollo, ISS, Shuttle) and leverages scientific and technological advances of the last 50 years (such as innovative orbital mechanics and In-Situ Resource Utilization) to create a long-term exploration vision that results in permanent settlement of the Moon.
